| Reverse description | The personification of Eirene (Peace) stands facing right in full length, robed in a long chiton and himation, holding a tall sceptre in her left hand and cradling the infant Plutos (or Hades, a local Amastrian iconographic convention) in her right arm. The figure occupies the central field, with the Greek civic legend distributed around the periphery. The reverse field shows the characteristic roughness of a heavily circulated provincial bronze, with green and brown patination over the raised design elements. |
