Obverse description Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, depicted from the rear in the characteristic three-quarter back view. The radiate crown with pronounced spikes frames the imperial effigy. The Greek imperial titulature is arranged in a circular legend around the bust within a beaded border. The portrait displays the youthful features typical of Gordian III's provincial coinage, with visible drapery folds and cuirass detailing on the shoulder.

Reverse description Hermes, the messenger deity and patron of commerce, stands facing left in a relaxed contrapposto pose at the centre of the field. In his outstretched right hand he holds a purse, symbol of commercial prosperity, while his left hand supports a caduceus, the herald's staff entwined with serpents. At his feet to the lower left crouches a ram, the animal sacred to Hermes. The ethnic legend of the Acmonean civic community runs around the periphery within a beaded border, affirming the local issuing authority.
