| Reverse description | Bare head of a Roman figure, possibly Mark Antony or a second magistrate, facing right, rendered in a similar provincial style to the obverse portrait. The bust is truncated at the shoulder and occupies the left portion of the flan. To the right of the effigy, the Latin legend EX D D appears in the field in two lines, an abbreviation for ex decreto decurionum, indicating the coin was issued by decree of the town council of the Roman colony of Sinope. The reverse flan is likewise irregular with green and brown patination. |
