Reverse description Selene-Hecate advancing to right, head turned back to left, wearing a crescent on her shoulders and a chiton billowing behind her in the wind. The goddess holds a torch upright in her raised right hand and a second torch downward in her left hand, evoking both her lunar and chthonic attributes. The ethnic legend ΘΥΑΤΕΙΡΗΝΩΝ is inscribed in the field or around the design, identifying the issuing city of Thyatira. The composition reflects the rich mythological iconography characteristic of Lydian provincial coinage of the Severan period.
