Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Elagabalus facing right, seen from the rear, with the paludamentum fastened at the shoulder and pteryges visible at the lower edge of the cuirass. The youthful imperial effigy is rendered in the typical provincial style of the Sardis mint, with curly hair beneath the laurel wreath. The surrounding Greek legend runs clockwise around the periphery of the flan.
