Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Severus Alexander facing right, rendered three-quarter from the rear, displaying elaborate paludamentum folds across the left shoulder. The imperial effigy is portrayed in the provincial style characteristic of Mesopotamian civic coinage, with dotted border visible along the coin's periphery. A Greek legend surrounds the bust, partially preserved due to the irregular flan, reading Μ Α ΑΛΞΝΔΕΡΟϹ ΚΑ. The modelling of the hair and drapery reflects the local engraving tradition of the Edessa mint.
