Reverse description Standing figure of Artemis advancing to the right, depicted in a dynamic striding pose upon a raised base, holding a lighted torch in each hand. The goddess is rendered in the Hellenistic provincial tradition, with drapery suggesting movement. The ethnic legend of the Pagaean civic coinage appears in the field, attributing the issue to the community of Pagae in Achaea. The reverse type reflects the local veneration of Artemis as a civic deity.
