| Obverse description | Laureate, cuirassed and paludamentum-draped bust of Emperor Commodus facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of Corinthian colonial coinage. The portrait displays the emperor's characteristic features with the laurel wreath encircling the head. A partial Latin legend runs along the periphery of the flan, partially off-flan due to the irregular striking. The bust is rendered with the military dress befitting an imperial portrait, combining the cuirass with the paludamentum draped over the left shoulder. |

| Reverse description | Reverse composition referencing the Isthmian Games, sacred to Corinth. To the left, a nude athlete strides forward to the left, holding a race-torch (lampadedromia torch) in one hand and a palm branch in the other, symbolising victory in the games. To the right, the figure of Melikertes-Palaimon reclines upon a dolphin moving to the left, the divine child whose cult was central to the Isthmian sanctuary. Behind the grouping rises a pine tree, the sacred tree of the Isthmian Games and an iconic symbol of the Corinthian colonial mint's reverse iconography. The colonial abbreviation C L I COR appears in the field. |
