| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Caracalla facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of the Troad mint. The effigy displays the emperor with paludamentum fastened at the right shoulder, presented as seen from the front in three-quarter perspective. The surrounding legend M AVR ANTONINVS PIVS AVG runs along the periphery of the flan in Latin capitals. The die work, though worn, reflects the Antonine portrait conventions typical of Severan-era colonial bronze coinage. |
