Regnal year 41 of Augustus (11–12 AD) places this issue among the final Alexandrian bronzes struck before his death in 14 AD. The ΕΥΘΗΝΙΑ type — invoking Euthenia, personification of abundance and the Nile's fertility — was a deliberate choice for Egyptian provincial coinage, where the annual flood cycle underpinned the entire grain economy that Rome had come to depend on after Actium.
