| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Antoninus Pius facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of Pontic colonial coinage. The emperor's effigy displays the characteristic portraiture of his reign, with naturalistic facial features and layered drapery over the left shoulder. A circular Latin legend surrounds the bust, running along the rim of the flan. The die work, though somewhat worn, reflects the conventions of Roman provincial civic mints of the mid-2nd century AD. |
