| Reverse description | Turreted and veiled Tyche, the personification of the city's fortune, seated left upon a rocky outcrop, her right arm resting upon the rock in a relaxed pose. Beneath her feet, a swimming river-god is depicted, symbolizing the local waterway and the city's geographic identity. The figure is rendered in the conventional Hellenistic Tyche type, echoing the famous Eutychides Tyche of Antioch. The composition conveys civic pride and divine protection, standard motifs for provincial bronze coinage of Cilicia under Antoninus Pius. The Greek legend ΠΟΜΠΗΙΟΠΟΛΕΙΤΩΝ ΘϹ arcs around the reverse field, identifying the issuing city and providing a regnal or civic year. |
