| Reverse description | Nude Heracles standing to the right, weight shifted onto his right leg, with his left arm resting on a club set upright on a small base or exergual platform. His right arm is bent at the hip in a resting pose. The hero appears to hold or display the Nemean lion skin, consistent with standard Heraclean iconography on Phrygian civic bronzes. The encircling field legend in Greek names the local magistrate and the civic ethnic: ϹΚΟΠΕΛΙΑΝΟϹ ΑΡΧΩΝ ΤΗΜΕΝΟΘΥΡΕΥϹΙ, identifying the archon Skopelianos as responsible for the issue. |
