Obverse description Laureate head of the emperor Vespasian facing right, rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of Bithynian civic coinage. The effigy displays the characteristic mature features of Vespasian with a laurel wreath crown. A circular Greek legend surrounds the portrait field, reading dedication to Emperor Caesar Augustus Vespasian by the Nicomedians. The coin exhibits a dark olive-brown patina with areas of green encrustation consistent with prolonged burial.
