Reverse description Cybele seated left upon a throne, wearing a turreted crown (polos), extending her right hand to hold a patera; one or more lions are depicted at her feet, serving as her traditional sacred attendants. A tall sceptre or tympanum appears to be present in the field to the right. The reverse legend ΤΙΑΝΩΝ identifies the issuing city of Tium in Bithynia. The scene is rendered in the provincial artistic style typical of Bithynian civic bronze coinage of the Severan period.
