Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of the personified Senate (ΙΕΡΑ ϹΥΝΚΛΗΤΟϹ) facing right, rendered in the typical provincial style of Asia Minor. The bust is depicted with a diadem across the brow and drapery over the shoulder. The encircling Greek legend reads ΙΕΡΑ ϹΥΝΚΛΗΤΟϹ, identifying the personification as the Sacred Senate. The portrait is executed in a conventional civic style characteristic of Carian provincial bronze coinage of the Severan period.
