| Obverse description | Laureate head of the emperor Septimius Severus facing right, rendered in the characteristic provincial style of the Pergamene conventus. The portrait displays the emperor's distinctive bearded effigy with laurel wreath, set within a circular flan with the Greek imperial titulature arranged around the periphery. The surface is heavily patinated with brown-green encrustations consistent with extended burial, somewhat obscuring the fine detail of the die work. The legend surrounds the portrait in the field. |
