Reverse description Elpis, the personification of Hope, standing facing left in a graceful contrapposto pose. She holds a flower or blossom in her raised right hand and with her left hand gathers and lifts the hem of her garment, a standard iconographic attribute identifying this deity in Greco-Roman coinage. The figure is rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style, with the regnal year expressed in Greek numerals flanking the figure in the field. The reverse field is otherwise plain.
