| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Balbinus facing right, rendered in three-quarter view from the front, with paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The Imperial titulature surrounds the portrait in Greek legend within the outer border of the flan. The engraving reflects the provincial workshop style characteristic of Milesian issues of the joint reign of Pupienus and Balbinus in AD 238. |
