| Obverse description | Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Philip II facing right, presented from the front, with the imperial effigy rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of the Pergamene conventus. The obverse legend runs around the periphery, identifying the subject as Marcus Julius Philippus. The flan is irregular, as is characteristic of provincial bronze coinage of this period. |
