Reverse description A large laurel wreath occupies the central field, its tied base visible at the lower portion, enclosing the Greek inscription ΠΥΘΙΑ in multiple lines within. The ethnic legend ΙΕΡΑΠΟΛΕΙΤΩΝ is distributed around the exterior of the wreath, referencing the Pythian games celebrated by the city of Hierapolis. A dotted border frames the entire design. The composition is characteristic of Phrygian civic bronzes commemorating local agonistic festivals.
