| Obverse description | Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Philip II as Caesar, facing right and seen from the front, rendered in the provincial Roman style typical of Phrygian civic coinage. The effigy displays a youthful portrait with paludamentum fastened at the shoulder and visible cuirass detailing. The Greek legend surrounds the bust in the field, distributed across the upper and lateral periphery of the flan. The overall strike is characteristic of the Laodicean mint, with an irregular, slightly off-center flan and moderate surface patination. |
