Reverse description A lectisternium scene, possibly ritual in nature, featuring a kline (ceremonial couch) upon which rests a semi-circular object beneath a wreath from which emerge branches, likely symbolising divine honour or a sacred feast. Beneath the kline stands a basis supporting a vase or vessel. Flanking the composition are two standing figures — a female to one side and a male to the other — each positioned before a palm branch, emblems of victory and civic prestige. The reverse legend in Greek proclaims the neocorate status of Nicomedia.
