| Obverse description | Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Maximinus I (Thrax) facing right, depicted from the rear, with the radiate crown rendered in relief above the helmeted head. The imperial effigy shows military dress with paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. A circular Greek legend surrounds the bust within the coin's field. The style is consistent with provincial bronze coinage struck at Nicomedia during the reign of Maximinus I, exhibiting the characteristic bold and somewhat rough workmanship of Bithynian civic issues. |

| Reverse description | The goddess Homonoia (Concordia) is depicted seated to the left upon a throne, wearing a kalathos (basket crown) upon her head, symbolising abundance and civic unity. She extends her right hand holding a patera for libation, while her left arm cradles a large cornucopia, the traditional emblem of prosperity. The figure is rendered in the local Bithynian provincial style, with drapery visible across the lower body. A continuous Greek legend encircles the reverse field, referencing Nicomedia's status as twice neocorate, an honour reflecting the city's role as keeper of the imperial cult. |
