| Obverse description | Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Marcus Aurelius facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Alexandrian coinage. The radiate crown is clearly visible above the imperial effigy, with traces of drapery over the shoulder. The encircling Greek legend naming the emperor as Marcus Aurelius Antoninus Augustus runs along the periphery of the flan, partially legible on this worn specimen. The portrait exhibits the broad, somewhat schematic modelling typical of mid-second century Alexandrian bronze issues. |
