| Reverse description | A three-line Greek honorific inscription enclosed within a laurel wreath, recording the name of the former archon Kudimos, son of Hieronymos. The wreath, tied at the base, frames the text in a manner typical of civic bronze coinage from Caria under the Roman provincial administration. The field around the inscription shows the characteristic rough surface and patina of a heavily circulated provincial issue. This reverse type, bearing a magistrate's name in place of a pictorial type, reflects the local eponymous tradition of Ceramian civic coinage. |
