| Obverse description | Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, depicted from the rear in the characteristic three-quarter perspective. The radiate crown with pointed rays is clearly rendered, and the imperial cuirass with paludamentum is visible across the shoulder. The Greek legend surrounds the effigy along the periphery of the flan within a dotted border. |
