| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, rendered in three-quarter view from the front. The imperial effigy displays the characteristic youthful features of the emperor, with the paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The encircling Greek legend names the emperor with his full imperial titulature. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show typical provincial die workmanship of the mid-third century. |
