| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gallienus facing left, depicted from behind in three-quarter rear view. The effigy displays the characteristic radiate treatment of the imperial portrait, with drapery and armor visible at the shoulder. A partial Greek legend is partially preserved in the field, reading ΝΟϹ, representing a fragmentary rendering of the emperor's titulature. The portrait style is consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the eastern mint tradition during Gallienus's sole reign (260–268 AD). |
