Obverse description Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Elagabalus facing right, viewed from behind, with the radiate crown rendered in bold relief. The effigy displays characteristic provincial portraiture with detailed drapery folds over the cuirass. The obverse legend in Greek characters encircles the bust, identifying the emperor by his adopted name Marcus Aurelius Antoninus. The style is consistent with the Lydian provincial mint tradition of the Severan period.
