| Obverse description | Bare-shouldered, draped and laureate bust of Emperor Commodus facing right, with a long beard characteristic of his later reign. The effigy displays curly hair bound with a laurel wreath rendered in some detail, with visible flan surface texture consistent with provincial hammered coinage. The Latin legend encircles the portrait along the rim, with a beaded border visible at the edge of the flan. |

| Reverse description | A tetrastyle temple depicted in three-quarter perspective, its four columns framing a cult statue of Apollo Smintheus standing atop a short column within the cella. The god is shown facing right, holding a patera extended over a lighted tripod altar and grasping a bow in the other hand, with a quiver visible at his shoulder. The composition reflects the characteristic provincial Roman rendering of the famous sanctuary of Apollo Smintheus near Alexandria Troas. The colonial legend COL AVG TROAD appears in the field or exergue. |
