Obverse description Veiled draped bust, possibly of Livia deified, facing left, with a long veil falling behind the neck and shoulders in the manner of imperial female portraiture. The legend ΘΕΣΣΑΛΩΝ ΣΕΒΑΣΤΗΩΝ curves around the field, identifying the issuing authority as the Augustan Thessalians. The portrait is rendered in a provincial style characteristic of Thessalian bronze coinage of the Julio-Claudian period.
