Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of the Emperor Claudius facing left, rendered in the provincial Greek style. A six-pointed star appears in the left field before the imperial portrait. The Greek legend ΤΙΒΕΡΙΟΣ ΚΛΑΥΔΙΟΣ ΚΑΙΣΑΡ runs along the periphery, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The portrait exhibits the characteristic broad facial features and thick neck associated with Claudian provincial coinage of Syria. A dotted border frames the entire obverse field.
