Obverse description Laureate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Caracalla facing right, depicted in three-quarter view from the front, with the pauldrons and chest armor of the cuirass clearly indicated. The imperial effigy is rendered in the vigorous provincial style typical of Phrygian civic coinage of the Severan period. A circular Greek legend surrounds the bust, naming the emperor by his official titulature.

Reverse description Cybele, the Phrygian mother goddess, enthroned and seated left upon a throne, holding a patera in her extended right hand and resting her left arm upon a tympanum. A lion, her sacred attribute, crouches at her feet to the left. The composition reflects the strong local veneration of Cybele in Phrygia, where her cult was of paramount importance, and the type follows the standard civic iconography of the region. The ethnic legend of the issuing city is inscribed in the field.
