| Obverse description | Laureate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Caracalla facing right, depicted from the rear in the characteristic Severan three-quarter back view, with the paludamentum visible across the shoulder. The emperor's effigy displays a finely rendered laurel wreath and articulated lorica segmentata. The encircling Latin legend reads M AVRE ANTONINOS around the periphery of the flan. The die engraving is typical of the provincial workshop at Alexandria Troas, showing bold if slightly provincial artistry. |
