| Additional information |
Cos sat within the Conventus of Halicarnassus under the reorganized provincial administration of Asia, and its civic bronze issues under Caligula reflect the island's long-standing habit of honoring both emperor and local magistrate on the same coin — the latter here being Eudamos, serving in what the inscription marks as a second term. Magistrate-named bronzes from Cos are sufficiently numerous to suggest a consistent civic minting tradition, but second-term identifications narrow the field considerably.
