Obverse description Draped bust of Livia facing right, her hair styled in characteristic Augustan-era fashion with waves drawn back from the face. The portrait is rendered in the classical Hellenistic tradition favoured by the Alexandrian mint, with fine drapery visible at the shoulder. The field is largely plain, with no surrounding legend. The effigy displays the dignified, idealised features associated with official imperial portraiture of the period.
