| Obverse description | Laureate head of Augustus facing right, rendered in the idealized Hellenistic portrait tradition characteristic of eastern provincial coinage. The laurel wreath is visible atop the head, and the neck truncation is plain. The surrounding Greek legend ΑΜΙΣΗΝ ΕΤΟΥΣ ΑΜ identifies the issuing city of Amisus and provides the regnal year date. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show heavy dark patination consistent with extended burial. |
