Obverse description Bare, bearded head of Heracles facing right, rendered in the provincial Greek style with bold, somewhat schematic features typical of Bithynian civic coinage of the Antonine period. The hero is depicted without his characteristic lion-skin, the portrait occupying the majority of the flan. A Greek legend curves around the periphery of the field, identifying the figure as the founder (ktistes) of the city.
