Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Marcus Aurelius as Caesar, facing right, with short beard, the portrait rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Lydian civic coinage. The circular legend surrounds the effigy, reading Μ ΑΥΡ ΟΥΗΡΟϹ ΚΑΙϹΑΡ in Greek characters. The flan is slightly irregular, as typical of hammered provincial bronzes of the mid-second century AD.
