Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Volusian facing right, portrayed as a youthful emperor with short curly hair and a nascent beard, seen from the rear in the characteristic Trajanic-style three-quarter perspective. The paludamentum is visible at the left shoulder, and the cuirass is rendered in relief. The encircling Latin legend is set within a dotted border, partially legible around the periphery of the flan.
