Obverse description Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Volusian facing right, depicted from behind, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The portrait is rendered in the provincial Roman style typical of the mid-3rd century AD mint of Alexandria Troas. A Latin legend encircles the bust in the field. The flan shows characteristic irregularity consistent with hand-struck provincial coinage of this period.
