| Reverse description | Standing figure of Dionysus, naked to the waist with himation draped over his lower limbs, posed cross-legged to the right and leaning against a column. The god holds a bunch of grapes in his extended right hand and a cantharus in his left hand. The composition reflects the Hellenistic iconographic tradition of a relaxed, contrapposto Dionysus common in Asia Minor provincial coinage. The encircling legend names the local magistrate and civic community in Greek characters. |
