Obverse description Bare laureate head of Emperor Trajan facing right, with finely rendered hair and laurel wreath, the portrait executed in the provincial Greek style typical of Pontic civic coinage. The circular legend ΤΡΑΙΑΝΟϹ ΚΑΙϹΑΡ runs around the field, identifying the emperor by name and title. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, consistent with hammered bronze production at a provincial mint. The surfaces show an even olive-green patina with encrustation obscuring portions of the legend.
