| Obverse description | Bare head of Pompey the Great facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic portrait tradition with characteristic tousled hair swept upward from the forehead. The portrait is boldly modeled in high relief, occupying most of the flan, with the neck truncation visible at the lower edge. A star appears to the right of the portrait in the field, serving as a distinguishing symbol associated with the city's founder. The flan is slightly irregular and shows characteristic features of provincial bronze coinage of Cilicia under the Julio-Claudian period. |

| Reverse description | Athena standing left in the classical Promachos stance, helmeted and clad in chiton and aegis, holding a small Nike in her extended right hand and a long spear in her left, with a large round shield resting against her left side. The figure is rendered in a schematic but energetic style typical of Cilician provincial bronzes. The encircling Greek legend ΠΟΜΠΗΙΟΠΟΛΙΤΩΝ runs around the periphery of the flan, with the civic era date (ΕΤΟΥϹ) ϘϚ (year 96) distributed in the field flanking the figure. The legend and date record the civic era of Pompeiopolis, corresponding to 30–31 CE under the reign of Tiberius. |
