Additional information

Bargasa was a small Carian inland settlement whose civic coinage under Severus Alexander represents one of the more obscure provincial outputs of the conventus of Alabanda. The city's exact constitutional status during the Severan period remains debated — it may have held limited autonomous minting rights intermittently rather than continuously, which would account for the relative infrequency of surviving civic bronzes attributed to it.

RPC VI #5350 is catalogued from a thin specimen base.
