Obverse description Draped bust of Julia Domna facing right, her hair elaborately waved and coiled at the nape in the characteristic Severan style. The empress is depicted with a diadem and richly draped garments rendered in low relief. The circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy, and the overall style is consistent with provincial bronze coinage struck at Philomelium in Phrygia under the Severan dynasty.

Reverse description Tyche, the personification of civic fortune, depicted standing facing left in long chiton and himation, holding a ship's rudder in her right hand and a cornucopia in her left. The figure stands in the characteristic pose associated with civic Tyche types on Phrygian provincial coinage. The encircling Greek legend names the city of the Philomelians and the presiding magistrate, Claudius Traianus, under whose authority the coin was issued.
