| Reverse description | Zeus Lydios depicted standing to the left, holding an eagle perched on his outstretched right hand and a long sceptre in his left hand. The figure is rendered in the conventional stance associated with the Lydian Zeus type, widely attested on civic bronze coinage of the Sardis conventus. The Greek legend encircles the type, naming the presiding magistrate and the civic ethnic of the Bagaeans. The overall style is consistent with provincial workshop production of the Severan period. |
