Obverse description Draped bust of Julia Domna facing right, depicted with her characteristic elaborately waved and layered coiffure arranged in ridged rows across the crown and gathered at the nape. The empress wears a diadem and is clothed in a draped garment visible at the shoulder and chest. The effigy is rendered in the provincial Greek tradition, with the circular Greek legend surrounding the portrait field.

Reverse description A stylized branching stalk bearing five heads of grain (ears of corn), arranged symmetrically upward from a single stem, the ears radiating outward in a fan-like composition that fills the central field. This motif is characteristic of the fertile agricultural symbolism associated with the Phrygian city of Apamea. The encircling Greek legend names the magistrate responsible for the issue and the civic authority of the Apameans.
