Reverse description The personification of Roma stands facing left in full figure, rendered in military attire. She extends a patera in her right hand and holds a long spear in her left; a large round shield rests on the ground at her feet. The encircling Greek colonial legend, interrupted by the Latin senatorial abbreviation S C in the field, reflects the hybrid epigraphic character typical of Philippopolis colonial bronzes struck under Philip I. The overall style is consistent with provincial workshop production of the mid-third century.
